Kirklands Care: Hired More New Staff With Less Work Involved

“Stephen and his team attended one of our Care Homes on the 6th January 2025 to conduct a full recruitment health check for us. Since then, we’ve been collaborating with The Care Social Network and in the first 4 months we have hired: 12 staff at one of our care homes – a mix of nurse / bank nurse, carers, head and deputy chefs, kitchen assistants and domestics. 11 staff at Kirklands – a mix of chef, carers and domestics. Total Hire of 23 staff across 2 care homes, 15 miles apart from one another.

The number of interviews attended has increased as well as hires. We have adopted new fresh recruitment principles and having an open mind in the process helps.

We have integrated the suggested Indeed templates which are simple and easy to use – great to see a snapshot for me at any time and easily explained to administrators on how to use them.

The Care Social Network have shown excellent customer service levels and are always approachable and always reply promptly with any queries I may have.

Recruitment administration used to take up most of my time. This process and structure has saved me a lot of time that I can spend on other parts of the business.

Having The Care Social Network available to us for any recruitment questions is a huge help. What we were doing prior to working with them was totally blind – no data and no idea. Now we have a structure in place, a process that has provided us tangible results and a team in The Care Social Network that are always there to help us.

The biggest difference I have noticed is consistency. Agency use at Highfield House in particular has dropped a considerable amount as we have new carers started with us and trained  - this gives continuity of care to our residents, faces they see every day rather than different strangers with agency. For the company it gives consistency but from a business perspective it has reduced cost. What we were spending on agency is far less than what we spend now.

Working in partnership with The Care Social Network is completely effortless. They are completely trustworthy as I know if they say you will do something then they will always be relied on. I also know they have the expert knowledge in care recruitment and the constant challenging of ideas i.e. do not need experienced carers to fill roles, ultimately good hearted and caring individuals are the most important attributes.

Overall, we have hired more new staff with less work involved, by trusting the process that The Care Social Network have set up for us. I can also see a more clearer picture of the number of interviews attended and how quickly we are hiring. We have also increased the number of interviews attended to face to face interviews as well as our actual overall hires. We are now saving circa £10,000 per month at one of our care homes, which I am overjoyed with.

Thank you Stephen and your team.”
